This L&D leader will be starting literally with "a clean sheet". The company has a global workforce and leadership team, who are engaged, and excited about their careers with the company. They're doing interesting and challenging work. They're rewarded well. But the executives want to add another dynamic - how to further the technical and soft skill expertise of their employees, and give them the tools needed to be even more successful.
This company is within the high-tech sector, so it is imperative that the workforce be encouraged and educated to develop ideas, to enable the company to continue their expansion within established and emerging markets. Additionally, with much of the workforce being made up of STEM talent, the provision of robust and relevant L&D support will be a key advantage for talent attraction and retention, in a highly competitive employment market.
So this person will need to be thinking about leadership development, creating career pathways, creating mobility pathways as part of our development plans, creating cross functional and cross cultural learning opportunities, creating graduate entry programs, experienced hire mentoring programs, and so much more!

They also have the maturity to recognise that robust frameworks will be key to enable significant and sustainable growth and it’s exciting to see they have the cash and executive support to invest in quality resources.
This is a data driven commercial environment where ROI is key, so we need a professional who can influence through analytics rather than pure emotion. And a professional who can apply a variety of learning methodologies; especially when there is budget and appetite to innovate with these.
Key at all times will be the design, implementation and refinement of frameworks for regional and global consistency, fairness and efficiency; without stifling innovation and creativity. This person will need to have a focus on solutions rather than policy hurdles!
Our ideal professional will have a history of working successfully across the complicated matrix of multinational companies, for the first hand understanding of what “good” HR can comprise. But this professional will have also had first-hand experience of the “getting stuck in” element that is part of any young, dynamically growing organisation.
This is a challenging role for anyone who loves the “can do” culture of a growing, agile and successful organisation. A person who prefers a purely strategic L&D focus won’t enjoy this quasi-start-up type environment. This really is about “rolling up your sleeves” and helping with whatever is needed to get the job done!
Advanced commercial acumen will be critical, along with credible leadership presence, and the ability to deal with “now” as the constant deadline expectation! This person will need to build a team, manage a budget, and provide strategic advice to business leaders and the CHRO, so exceptional written and verbal English will be essential as will be inspiring presentation skills.
Relocation support is available and some (planned) domestic and long haul travel should be expected. This role is only available to current US citizens or Green Card holders. Any experience in having lived and worked across multiple countries will be very highly regarded.
Base salary starting from $160,000 plus STIP, LTIP and other benefits are on offer as part of a highly competitive package.
