Global HR Director - Boston region, USA - from USD 220,000 + STIP + LTIP

HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT OFFER

We're seeking a senior level Director / HR Business Partner, to be based in the region of Boston MA, with a focus on supporting a truly global workforce.  The overall company is a lovely size at circa 5,000 employees and is cash flow rich with solid EBIT performance.  Recent changes in the executive team are driving greater investment in R&D, with an agenda for ongoing organic growth.

This multinational employer will be seeking someone with 15+ years’ experience & well-rounded HR expertise, ideally with a history of directly supporting workforces across multiple continents.  This person will be the most senior HR contact for a global leadership team within one of the company’s largest divisions.  As the HR Director this person will be responsible for ensuring that business priorities are achieved through the creation of innovative, commercially viable, and relevant HR strategy and frameworks.  This person will be liaising immediately with in-country HR teams and regional HR leaders to ensure implementation is effective, locally tailored and compliant.  Well established CofE’s are in place to provide expert support for reward and talent acquisition also.

Reporting directly into the CHRO and working with key business Presidents, this person will be fully accountable for guiding and recommending global strategies to enable successful organisation redesign and culture change.  This HR Director will also be one of the most data savvy, tech savvy and OD & change management experienced people in the HR team globally, so will be expected to provide support in mentoring, coaching and upskilling current HR team capability across their own division and others around the world.

The workforce spans across highly technical B2B commercial sales specialists, skilled manufacturing, and globally niche R&D scientists and technicians who are operating with a particularly niche range of product lines.  I expect these workforces will provide many challenges to their new HR Director, given the level of expertise they have in their own core niches and the reactive, almost transactional support they’ve had historically from the HR function.  Certainly a key challenge will be fostering ongoing creativity, innovation and entrepreneurialism; tempered with more robust and sustainable frameworks that have global applicability.

To date, the business growth has been sound but conservative, and our new executive team want to “kick start” that situation!  HR frameworks haven’t changed for years in some instances, so many aspects need to be revamped across areas like reward, talent, succession planning & more.  Additionally, a more aggressive approach to growth could be easily undertaken given the breadth of potential in this market, as could better operating efficiencies in order to maximise profits.

This role will pay circa $220,000 base salary, plus bonus plus package plus likely LTIP and relocation support if required.   Up to 30% planned short and long haul travel can be expected.

This is a high-profile role, and success will certainly provide many ongoing development & progression opportunities within the corporation around the world.  English is the company language but additional languages will be highly regarded.  A strong track record for influencing via data, gaining credibility through measurable ROI initiatives, and having courage of conviction for organisational design and culture change projects will be essential for success in this role.    We will be particularly interested in professionals who offer tenured but clearly ambitious careers within complex matrix international employers.

This role is only available to US citizens or current US work visa holders.
