Based in the Örebro region, this person will be responsible for a mid sized HR team, who are supporting a variety of workforces, inclusive of those at large, well established manufacturing operations that are key to global product supply.  Manufacturing is set to double its workforce and production capacity in a short span of time and the company executives are keen to maintain the high quality delivery standards, employee engagement, and positive labor council relationships that exist today.

As the most senior HR person spanning the Nordics, this role will have dual responsibilities for both the strategic direction and operational excellence of all HR services that will enable the company growth plans; and development of HR team members will certainly aid in achieving a more efficient function!

Given the company's aggressive growth plans, immediate experience in achieving high volume hiring will also be well regarded.  Any experience with successful retention initiatives will be useful as the workforce includes niche skills and globally scarce talent.  This HR leader will additionally have opportunities for creating frameworks for talent learning and development (right to leadership level) plus enabling career progression pathways for high performers.  A new HRIS rollout, and provision of more efficient payroll services internally are also key priorities for this role.

The leadership team is driving the need for this hire – they’re keen to add a high calibre HR executive to their team, to help drive the company’s extensive and demanding growth plans; and are seeking a professional who can offer the following:

  • Extensive experience of Swedish labour law and blue-collar unions (essential) and advanced knowledge of other Nordic country employment laws
  • Fluent English and Swedish language skills (essential)
  • High personal integrity and resourcefulness
  • Direct experience with LEAN methodologies or continuous improvement manufacturing environments
  • A track record for successfully collaborating, coaching, and influencing business leaders
  • A flair for change management and organisational design, and post merger integration

The corporation has many subsidiaries worldwide and are known for being reputable, and well resourced.  It is operating within a heavily regulated industry, with regular audits on production standards, so the desire for the highest quality of output must be in the DNA of whoever is appointed to this challenging post.

Experience of working in a complex matrixed culture, both domestically and internationally would be an advantage and a history of successfully liaising with and influencing corporate headquarter stakeholders will be useful.

The culture for the HR team globally is interesting – more about having a solutions focus rather than being “policy police”.  The HR functions globally are staffed by some bright, commercially astute and very impressive HR professionals, so there are plenty of opportunities to learn and to secure strong peer support for this multi priority role.

The company rewards on merit rather than tenure – which is fantastic for ambitious, smart, relationship savvy, HR specialists.  The company also has a track record of promoting people cross functionally which is impressive.

Annual base salary for this role will be over 800,000 SEK, plus benefits package and relocation support if required.  This company is open to hiring EU citizens only, with the right to work from a Sweden base.
