Multilingual HR leader with Sub-Saharan Africa and Middle East expertise

Salary expectations: EUR 180,000 plus benefits

Mobility: EU citizen who is based in the EU and open to work remotely or commute on a regular basis. Also able to travel within South America and Africa

Team management: Have led 12 direct and 6 indirect reports; and have had informal leadership accountability for a regional HR organization of 100+ people. Preference to work as a manager of teams, but open to sole contributor role if coaching/advising leadership teams.

Current/recent employer: Fortune 500 company with 2022 revenues over USD 80 billion and 100,000+ employees globally

Remits of particular interest: Team management/department head in dynamic emerging markets environment. Alternatively CoE/consultancy role that supports leadership in emerging markets. Or regional or global HRBP roles with an agenda for change.

Unique expertise: I have unique leadership and business partnering experience in dynamic frontline emerging markets, especially Sub-Saharan Africa. Due to my tenure in head office, regional and frontline settings, I have developed a unique ability to facilitate collaboration across organizational levels, and to apply high business acumen which has increased my credibility with leaders and enabled me to provide pragmatic people solutions to business challenges.

Commerciality: Increased engagement score under my leadership in department from lower quartile base to 80th percentile (Gallup) over 12 months period in the midst of HR transformation. Talent and leadership development efforts in my previous role resulted in appointment of several African Managing Directors in lieu of expatriates.

Strengths: I have a proven track record in relationship building based on intercultural competence. I have driven numerous change and transformation efforts across vast geographies and in very different cultures, from Sub-Saharan Africa over the Middle East to Southeast Asia, and I have overcome resistance and secured buy in from senior leaders. My language skills have also helped to bring down barriers and build bridges.

Need to know: As part of the numerous change initiatives I have driven, I have taken an active role in terms of delivering training and awareness sessions and facilitating focus group conversations.
