Global Talent Acquisition Director - California - USD 500,000 package

HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT OFFER

This person will be leading a mid sized team of TA professionals, for a $20+ billion company in growth mode; and needing to take their TA offering to a “best in class” level.

Working within a CofE operating model, this person will manage a team of 50 TA specialists scattered around the world, who are focussed on delivery of hiring assignments ranging from graduate entry through to experienced and executive hires.  Key internal stakeholders will be the business leaders and HR teams within the USA and abroad; and the role will report into a highly supportive HRVP.   This person will be fully accountable for TA strategy and delivery, and will have accountability for “joining up the dots” to ensure practice consistency and knowledge sharing.

Currently the team is tasked with completing several hundreds ofhires annually, for which they have reasonably good process and frameworks.  However, with an increasing scarcity of their niche skilled, globally scarce candidates, we need a leader who can innovate on more pro-active, creative and resourceful solutions for finding, securing and keeping talent.  Someone who can set the set and deliver on strategy, and who can really enhance the client and candidate interface.  And someone who knows how to monitor and enhance team capability to minimise delivery hiccups!

Given the talent competitive industry sector this company works within, they have to be particularly innovative when factoring employer branding, STEM candidate development, graduate hiring, internal promotions & transfers, building talent pools, vendor maximisation and trend spotting analysis.

We need a professional who can work independently, who can engage and push back on difficult stakeholders, who can develop and progress a team “to the next level”.   This person will take a holistic view to hiring and talent management, and will lead by example for creative thinking to deliver on hiring challenges.  Utilisation of tech, social media, networks, referrals, branding campaigns etc will all be a natural part of this person’s “toolkit”.  The workforce is chock full of Masters and PhD qualified professionals, so this person will frequently need to influence through logical reasoning, fact based evidence, and the use of credible data to determine trends, risks, delivery performance, hiring quality and more.

There is a huge amount to be refreshed and created, the team needs a lot of investment to get to “world class”, and a high level of autonomy will be given to this person to effect the changes and improvements needed.  In addition,  the company has multiple global projects affecting the broader talent agenda, so plenty of opportunities for international work are available.

Board level communication skills will be key for both written and verbal presentations.   Advanced analytics and numeracy, tech and trend savvy, attention to detail, an international mind set and inspirational leadership skills will of course be essential.  Planned travel within North America and very occasional long haul within Europe and Asia is expected.  Minimum Bachelor university degree plus other tertiary education qualifications are expected as will be a history of working across multiple continents.  A table tenured career that clearly shows career development and progression within complex matrix corporations will be highly regarded.

This role will suit an ambitious leader within the TA specialism already; or a broadly skilled HR professional who has deep and direct experience in leading and improving talent acquisition functions.  Career development opportunities abound within the broader HR team for this high profile and challenging role.

The company is heavily invested with their commitment for this role, offering a base salary from $250,000 base salary plus bonus plus benefits package plus LTIP (for a circa $500k total package).

If necessary, generous relocation support will also be provided for this role based near San Francisco.  This company is open to hiring either US citizens or professionals who have eligibility for US work visa status.
