Carter Morris is hiring to expand their team again!
Due to our continued company growth, we need to add another professional to our team – someone who shares our mission to bring respect and ethics into every hiring process.
As a retained search recruitment company we work on behalf of multi-national companies, who pay for our global knowledge and expertise in “hunting” for people to work for them around the world. We need a new team member to help us with this hunting – to source and assess senior-level job seekers, who have the potential to match the hiring criteria of these international companies and to support on all of the administrative elements that go into hiring processes.
This role will be a key contributor within our global research team and on a daily basis this person will be:
Using a variety of research methods to source specific senior level profiles from around the world and connecting them with our assessment team
Managing the many unsolicited queries we receive, in a manner that treats people fairly and respectfully
Working to ensure all compliance, regulations and project milestones are met, all interview and travel booking logistics are effected, and all records are accurately maintained
Ideally, you’ll offer a work history within client service focussed employers, that has enabled you to finesse and successfully demonstrate these essential core competencies:
Advanced written and verbal English. We’re dealing with executives all around the globe so we need exceptional communication skills. Your spoken English needs to be fit for a board room and you must be able to accurately proofread multi-page documents
Respect, empathy and adaptable interpersonal skills. We’re dealing with people of different nations, faiths, sexualities, genders, and career aspirations. These people typically have 20 years plus career experience with multiple reasons for considering new employment. We need to understand and adjust our working styles to fit in with them and help them be successful wherever and whenever we can
Resilience with “pick yourself up and dust yourself down” self drive. Even when you’ve considered hundreds of contenders, and think you’ve finally found the one perfect person in the world for any given role, the employer client can change the criteria on whom they’re really seeking. Or your preferred contender can change their minds about progressing. Or employer business strategies can change and make the role just disappear. We guarantee there will be many, many days when you’re tearing your hair out. If you cannot handle high levels of pressure on a sustained basis, then this isn’t the job for you.
Emotional intelligence. Read up on it. You cannot be successful in this job without it.
Time management. We’re talking about the extreme kind – imagine your day with multiple interviews to be scheduled, 2 reports to write, a series of unsolicited phone calls to be handled, multiple emails to be replied to, your fridge just broke down full of birthday party ice cream, and a dear friend has just lobbed on your doorstep needing support with a family crisis. If you’re not a master juggler or spinner of plates: this isn’t the job for you.
Technically literate. We provide all the equipment and software and licences that you’ll need to do the job. But we don’t have the luxury of an IT team. So when your printer jams up, it’ll be up to you to figure out the fix. When Microsoft wants to upgrade software it’ll be up to you to click the right buttons. And with so many internet searches, email communications, and constant online meetings, you absolutely need to be confident with a keyboard!
Integrity and good manners. Reputation is everything in our industry. One foolish word, one missed call, one perceived disrespectful treatment of a candidate or employer client, one mis-truth; and you’re finished. So you need to be the kind of person who delivers what you promise. And have the organisational skills to make sure you follow up on everything, all of the time.
Sensational instincts with a naturally consultative style. You need to be hard-wired with an innate sense of knowing when to push, to "drill down" on an answer, to know that something just doesn't add up. If your "gut feel" isn't a reliable barometer, this isn't the job for you.
What are we offering?
Home office work arrangement with flexibility for full time or part-time, and work hours (to fit with the international time zones we’re working across daily)
Intensive and extensive training in all aspects of the retained search industry (we’re great at getting newcomers up to speed and credible in this profession)
A company culture that isn’t just paying lip service to quality, service, respect
Highly varied and interesting work
Grown up work environment (where you are expected to contribute ideas that add to the ongoing growth of the company rather than being “just an employee”)
A market competitive salary (with potential for pension and annual profit sharing bonus)
Planned travel (once travel is allowable again) for team events in London, Zurich, Beziers (you’ll need a current passport and full Covid vaccinations)
Fantastic people to work with (even if we say so ourselves !) Check out our leadership team. We have no time for company politics, and whilst we treat our work seriously, we still manage to have fun
A truly global candidate community and clients who are making and doing some pretty cool things (some of the biggest companies and brands in the world, and some exciting high growth and mission driven SME’s)
If this sounds like the kind of career role that just might be of interest to you, please do make contact directly via solutions@cartermorris.com with a current CV and covering note that helps us understand your strengths and interest for this type of role.

UK citizens/work visa holders only will be considered for this hire, and our preference is for a professional already based within or able to readily travel to Sidcup Kent in South East England.
