EMEA Reward Leader - double digit growth biotech - West London - hefty exec package
HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT OFFER
This well resourced and reputable health sector company has experienced double digit growth annually for the many years we’ve partnered with them - a fantastic “employer of choice” who are literally in the business of saving lives.
They’ve reached a point of needing to upgrade their Reward capabilities across many countries within EMEA, thus creating this role for a seasoned leader who will own Reward strategy and implementation across the region.
Reporting to a VP of Reward based in the USA, this professional will have direct input into the audit of existing frameworks, and the refinement and/or complete re-design of these as necessary. This person needs to improve on existing infrastructure, define new policies and create new comp tools and processes to support the ongoing company growth agenda. This person also needs to work in partnership with a centralised specialist Benefits team, to ensure consistency for the Total Reward agenda.
This person will be a key advisor for
all organisational change projects where varying Reward elements may be critical for success
HR Business Partners in all instances where the Reward agenda may have impact on Union and Works Council interactions
M&A activities across the region where Reward risk and harmonisation are key considerations
Commercial teams who are planning to change and improve their sales incentives
key stakeholders who need to ensure the company remains competitive for talent attraction, engagement and retention
The workforce is spread over a large number of countries within the region, and the commercial teams have very different performance pressures depending on the products they support and the markets they work within. As a result, this person will need to tailor their comp designs quite heavily rather than adopting a “one size fits all” approach.
The Reward team is lean, with 2 immediate reports into this role, so prioritisation and an ability to juggle strategic planning with operational delivery will be key. There is a peer leader based elsewhere to provide specialist Benefits expertise and administration, so regular collaboration will be required to ensure a Total Reward approach is consistently and fairly applied within the region.
The regional Business Executives plus the significant portion of Scientific and PhD qualified workforce have an appetite for pro active interventions and data, so this person may also be juggling demand for services vs team capabilities for effective delivery!
This high profile role will require a leader who can offer deep technical expertise across all aspects of compensation strategy, along with extremely strong influencing skills across an array of international stakeholders. Previous history with support scientific workforces will be highly regarded, and a stable, tenured work history showing career progression within previous employer companies will be expected.
The role is to be based West of London with great links to the City and to Heathrow Airport. Salary will start from £140,000, with healthy bonus, LTIP and various benefits making up a very competitive package. Generous relocation support is also available to EU citizens. Regular travel can be expected across the region and occasionally to the USA and Asia - likely to be in the order of at least 2-3 planned trips globally per year.
