ROLE FILLED - HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT OFFER
This role is perfect for an ambitious professional who is solidly grounded in the workings of a competitive, complex matrix, P&L focussed, international business. Leading a team of varying levels of capability, we need a leader who can take HR business partnering to "the next level". The local teams are performing well for the fulfillment of HR administration and process and day to day service delivery; but they need to offer more proactive support to business leaders in an array of areas inclusive of talent attraction, engagement, retention; workforce productivity; labor relations; leadership development; mobility; and career pathways.
The role will initially focus on supporting business units within Canada and the USA, with the potential to take on additional markets ownership within this global company, spanning niche skilled workforces who haven’t all experienced “great” HR support historically. With ongoing growth on the agenda for this cash-rich and heavily acquisitive company, the HR team has no shortage of work ahead to ensure robust frameworks to support sustainable and profitable growth.
Supporting an inspiring CHRO plus an array of Executive leaders, this person will need exceptional board level presentation skills, in addition to being financially savvy. This HR Executive will also need to be comfortable and credible in presenting data analysis, market trends, talent and reward recommendations. Solid knowledge of both Canadian and US labor laws, and any time working as a deep subject matter expert in one of the HR specialisms (eg: Talent Management, Reward, HR Operations etc) will be well regarded.
Previous experience in directly leading, developing and scaling up HR team will be critical - we will be seeking evidence of mentoring, coaching and inspiring others to perform as part of this hiring process.
Previous M&A experience will be invaluable, covering all or some of the thinking and activity required for successful due diligence, harmonisation and integration.
The company is well resourced and reputable, and offers genuinely diverse career opportunities to its high-performance employees. They do however have limited global HR initiatives in place, which gives this person an opportunity to design policy and programmes that are relevant for multiple country markets around the world. It will also provide an immediate challenge - how to offer a more strategic HR service when the team are too frequently caught up with day to day tactical work.....
The role is open to Canadian and US citizens who are able to secure Canadian work visas; and will ideally be based near Montreal or Toronto. Fluent written and verbal French and English language is essential, along with an appreciation for multi-cultural sensitivities.
A genuine interest in global markets will be key, and an ambitious professional who offers global mobility should progress well within this rapidly expanding company.
