International Mobility Leader - chance to upgrade

ROLE FILLED - HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT OFFER

We’re seeking a Global Mobility leader for a well-resourced company with an employee and customer footprint across multiple continents. Continued growth plans across existing and new markets require ongoing transfer of expert staff into long-term postings and short-term secondments within multiple geographies inclusive of cross border and cross state transfers. We also have an onging need for external hires to be moved to jurisdictions outside of their current home countries.

This is a high-profile role that will directly contribute to company growth success, whilst leading, developing and inspiring a team of mobility experts across multiple geographies.  And its so much more than just an audit and refinement of existing process, policy and frameworks for suitability and scalability to match the company’s ongoing expansion plans. If you've ever wanted to re-imagine a fit for purpose mobility offering and own the strategic development of a world-class mobility function then this could be the role for you. Especially if your natural strategic considerations include:

  • a flair for applying benefits that are non-traditional, but valuable to the modern employee

  • design and implementation for mobility programs that are appealing to a variety of generations, ethnicity and family structures

  • the adaption of technology and social media to support efficient communications and mobility practices

  • views on mobility as a talent development tool, rather than a perk purely for executives and career expats.

  • automatic contingencies for risk management and employee wellbeing (Covid being a good example)

This company has a product and service offering to improve healthcare and save lives. Stemming from that is an authentic value for caring for employees. So “high touch concierge service” is an expectation for all internal stakeholders interacting with the global mobility services team. So at a minimum, our successful mobility thought leader will offer:

  • Expert knowledge of cross border employment law and work visa requirements

  • Demonstrable depth for technical knowledge across all aspects of mobility, beyond simply taxation advice and relocation support

  • History of enabling a higher standard of international assignments policy, process and experience with a minimum of fuss and disruption

  • Proven consistency in achieving accuracy and compliance

  • At least 15 years of leading a team of global mobility experts and a history of successfully presenting mobility strategies to Board level stakeholders

  • Natural comfort for achieving data quality and consistency - this company still has pockets of decentralisation within recently acquired companies, so you can expect to inherit a variety of processes, legacy systems and Excel spreadsheets!

  • Ability to harness virtual resources - whilst you’ll be managing an expert team of mobility experts, there will be an ongoing requirement to work with HR peers, Business Leaders, and expats themselves; and you will need to engage and direct a variety of stakeholders to achieve results

  • Exceptional project management skills, with a need to identify both current and future trends for mobility and working practices around the world

  • Ideally, a history of working successfully across the complicated matrix of global, international companies, but also first-hand experience of the “getting stuck in” element that is part of any dynamic, rapid growth, constantly changing organisation.

  • Fluent English for written and verbal communication and presentation skills - with a need to influence and impress the C-Suite and peer HR leaders right from the outset. You will also need to successfully convey technical requirements to non-technical people on a daily basis!

We have good flex on salary & package, and will likely base this role from key locations within Europe, Australia or the USA. We would love to secure a leader who has a personal history of having lived and worked abroad as part of their professional career.

This is a salaried, career role that will require regular international travel so a current passport and full Covid vaccinations (for countries still needing those) will be essential. Unfortunately, career contractors will not be considered at this time.

Interviews are being booked currently - this company is motivated to make a successful hire, quickly!  Interested professionals can apply directly and in confidence below.
