EMEA Talent Acquisition Leader - build a legacy - flex location
ROLE FILLED - HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT OFFER
This role is all about auditing, building, developing, refining, and building some more.
As a result of significant acquisition activity in the last 5 years, this company has expanded from staff and operations in one country only, to a quadrupled workforce and operating presence across multiple countries around the world. They’re in the business of saving and improving lives, and still have plenty of market share options available.
However, whilst they’ve been busy with acquisition successes, they’ve not had the chance to properly integrate and harmonise workforces, processes, frameworks, technologies and cultures. Which means the current Talent Acquisition function consists of a group of people thrown together from different companies, attempting to deliver hiring results with a “mish mash” of systems, processes, brands, tools, standards and more.
With a newly appointed global VP for TA, and high interest in the people agenda from the company board and execs; this is a chance to think, fix, reset, test, and build scaleale frameworks that will more successfully enable the ongoing company growth and acquisition plans.
And critical to achieving this, is the need for a reliable, thoughtful, solutions focussed EMEA talent acquisition expert, to take on full regional accountability for organising, developing and inspiring a TA team to a become a high performance, value add function.
Despite the current chaos after so much recent change, there is some traction for attracting, engaging and recruiting and day to day hiring delivery has been relatively successful. However the need to transform the TA function to “the next level” is deemed critical to ensure ongoing company success, especially when many of their hires are for globally scarce, niche skilled scientific workforces.
Adoption of new technologies, hiring methodologies, updating employer branding, social media consistency, stronger talent pipelines, workforce planning, building frameworks for data led decision making, proactive scoping of new talent markets, thoughtfulness for talent mobility, development of “grow your own” programs, internal talent identification - these are just some of the many priorities in this role; in addition to being a role model and subject matter expert to an array of regional and global TA, HR and company executive stakeholders.
As a member of the global TA leadership group, this EMEA leader will help to shape and drive global consistencies and economies of scale, whilst ensuring localisation for the cultures and legislations in region. This person will need to be holistically-minded, and able to contribute ideas on more innovative and resourceful solutions for sourcing and hiring, for D&I and workforce planning. Someone who can offer proven transformation expertise for building sustainable processes and frameworks and strategies that will allow this company to continue to be known as an “employer of choice”.
We have a “wish list” of expertise required from this person given the high profile and succession plans for this role, inclusive of:
Advanced English - it will be essential for both written and verbal presentations to executive leaders; and any additional languages will be highly regarded
A track record of managing, developing and inspiring large, geographically scattered teams; along with successfully influencing and partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
A natural comfort for technology and future state thinking - not just for TA but encompassing a broader talent mangement agenda
A history for delivering high volume hiring results, within a similar extent of framework chaos would be particularly useful - this size and complexity of this transformation project combined with an upgrade to team capabilties may not be ideal for someone wanting to “step up and give it a try”.
A TA leader who has historically worked within a recruitment agency or RPO setting, and/or in data-driven internal TA team settings would be very comfortable in this kind of company culture - the executive stakeholders are all keen for factual analysis to determine trends, risks, delivery performance, hiring quality and more, so your numeracy and analytics skills will need to be exceptional.
Given the time-zones to be covered with this international role, a hybrid work-from-home and from key work sites in EMEA is on offer.
A base salary from equivalent GBP 150,000 is on offer (with flex dependent on expertise and perceived value) along with STIP, LTIP, and considerable additional benefits. Additional career development options will be available to specialists who have an interest in working abroad in the future and/or segueing into broader HR or business roles.
Interested TA leaders can apply directly and in confidence below. We are hosting interviews currently with a view to extending an employment offer in the coming weeks.
