This international company is seeking a multi country HR leader, to own the HR agenda in a key region within the EU, in a role that will span various company divisions in growth mode.

As the HR Director for the region, this person will be the "go to" advisor for divisional HR peer leaders, divisional business executives, and in-country management teams.

There is a small team of direct reports with varying levels of capability, and well established regional and global CofE's are available for additional support.

The company is in growth mode, and business leaders are demanding support for more robust frameworks to enable further growth and profitability.  Expert guidance particularly on sales incentive plans, commercial workforce capability development, retention strategies, and career pathways for commercial specialists are high priority agenda items for this role.

A genuine interest in pro active talent management will be useful - the commercial teams consist of niche skill & knowledge specialists, and  market demand for these professionals is very high, and competitive.

This role will be based from offices in the Dusseldorf region, and will be a key member of the regional Leadership Team - the culture is for collaborating at those premises together when not undertaking planned travel for work. 

This HR leader will need to own all Works Council and union relationships across 4 countries, and build upon the positive relationships and arrangements that exist currently.  A pro active strategist would be welcomed, so that all stakeholders are aligned well before organisational changes occur to accommodate company expansion.

Reporting into the HR VP Europe, there are multiple HR and Business projects rolling out for the company across Europe and globally, so there's no shortage of challenges that this HRD can be involved with.

Our ideal HR leader will have:

  • extensive experience in enabling high-value product, B2B commercial sales workforces

  • ability to read a P&L and interpret a balance sheet

  • demonstrated success in engaging and influencing Business Executives as a trusted HRBP

  • track record of successfully engaging and negotiating with German Works Councils and other jurisdiction knowledge

  • fluent English and German language skills

  • history of influencing successfully within complex, matrix, multinational organisations

  • a pragmatic, solutions focussed approach (HR policy police won't last in this company!)

  • a history of inspiring and developing HR teams to achieve greater service delivery

  • current EU citizenship

Package includes base salary circa EUR 140,000, company car, competitive bonus and various benefits.  Relocation support is also on offer if required.
