Regional HR Director, France based

This interesting and varied role will offer many challenges for the HR leader who is motivated for continuous improvement, and who thrives in a complex, matrix, multicultural work environment. It will be ideal for the modern HR thinker who is constantly looking for ways to add measurable commercial value to the business, and who is comfortable working with senior leadership teams and Board level stakeholders.

This well established company is going through a cycle of extreme change, with a mix of restructures, scaling for new product launches, acquisitions, upgrading on production efficiencies, and upgrading their commercial approaches to market. As a result this HR leader will be relied upon heavily to help with various change management projects, in addition to providing counsel on employee relations risks, organisational re-design, plus talent attraction & retention.

This person will also focus on developing, inspiring and managing HR teams who are scattered across specialist manufacturing facilities, in addition to some R&D locations.

There is no shortage of additional projects to be worked through including:

  • Maintaining effective union relationships based on partnership and proactivity.

  • Application of Lean / Kaizen / Six Sigma / continous improvement methodologies to improve business efficiencies.

  • Alignment of regional HR processes with global HR strategy (and direct contributions to the wider commercial HR strategy for the parent company).

  • Workforce planning optimisation to maximise productivity, manage succession plans, and create effective knowledge transfer and pension management.

  • Creation of a long term Talent Acquisition and Management strategy (further growth cannot happen without hiring additional employees and investing in their professional development and career pathways)

  • Leadership development and coaching for management teams at each location (who currently have a range of tenure and skills).

This is not a remote work arrangement as given the HR history across the sites, this person should be looking to commit to regular travel for site visits, and “showing up” as a visible, inspiring and supportive presence. With core leaders based in the Lyon area, this would be a particularly useful base location and relocation support can be offered to eligible French or other EU citizens.

Package includes a base salary from EUR 180,000 (potential to increase depending on expertise level) plus benefits. Advanced knowledge of French employment laws is essential as are fluent English and French language skills.

If this sounds like the challenge you've been seeking for your next career move, please do make contact directly and in confidence today. Interviews are being scheduled currently, with a view to an employment offer being extended in the coming weeks.
