Regional HR Leader / Business Partner - Bournemouth, UK
ROLE FILLED - HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT OFFER
This well resourced division of a global company continues to expand its business as a result of new product development and acquisitions, which is driving the need to upgrade HR capabilities to aid in these growth plans. Subsequently, we’re seeking an ambitious HR leader to take on full functional accountability for a significant manufacturing and commercial sales workforce scattered across the UK and western Europe.
Additionally, this particular division of the company is in the process of being divested, so in addition to needing to deploy frameworks, tools and technology to enable future growth; this HR leader will need to work on splitting out the parent company resources and building “stand alone” capabilities for payroll, C&B, TA Talent Management and more. Plus support the business leaders to ensure they also have “stand alone” capabilities that enable full operating independence from the parent company.
Immediate projects to be owned by this leader include:
Repositioning HR services from traditional, reactive, “policy policing” to proactive, enabling support, along with a good measure of strategic thinking and harnessing quality data to ensure informed decision making
Building effective stakeholder relationships based on business enabling partnerships, rather than the very frustrating “just read the handbook” approach that has historically been adopted
Leadership development and coaching for all levels of management across multiple countries
Deployment and support of continuous improvement initiatives covering technology, manufacturing equipment and people investment (an understanding of Lean / Kaizen / Six Sigma methodologies would be beneficial)
Reconfiguration of sales reward plans to drive the right behaviours whilst ensuring transparency and fairness
Alignment of local HR processes with global HR strategy (whilst also being a direct contributor to those global strategies)
Workforce planning optimisation to maximise productivity, manage succession plans, and create effective knowledge transfer and pension management
Creation of a long-term Talent Acquisition and Management strategy to recruit and retain employees
Support for due diligence and post merger integration activities
Mentoring and development of other HR team members
This person will be a key member of the local management team in this high profile role, that will require a level of planned travel to other countries.
This person will ideally offer a working knowledge of employment laws in western European countries, and any direct experience with German Works Councils negotiations will be highly regarded.
With a base salary from £90,000 (potential to increase significantly depending on experience level) plus bonus and benefits, this role offers genuine opportunities for ongoing career development, progression and increased scope responsibilities.
If this sounds like the challenge you've been seeking for your next career move, please do make contact directly. Interviews are being scheduled currently, with a view to an employment offer being extended in the coming weeks.
