Regional HR Leader - UK with planned international travel
ROLE FILLED - HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT OFFER
We're seeking an HR “all rounder” for a multinational company that is experiencing significant change after a prolonged period of M&A activity.
Reporting directly into a supportive and empowering European HR VP, this person will be the regional “go to” HR partner for all things HR, accountable for supporting a variety of commercial workforces scattered across multiple countries. Working with business leaders, this person will be helping with harmonisation and consolidation activities - the company has experienced significant organisational changes recently, and we now need to refine policies, processes and tools in key countries, to achieve consistency and fairness across all jurisdictions.
Once we’re approaching a level of efficiency, this person can start on the building of frameworks that will enable the next period of company growth, and branch out into talent management initiatives that will enable the company to be more effective in attracting, engaging and retaining a niche skilled workforce.
Payroll has already been outsourced, so this reduces some administrative burden. However we still have too many variations of benefits and employment contracts, and need to greatly improve technology useage to secure a quality of data to aid information based decision making.
Additionally, there is a need for proactive business partnership, and gaining the trust of business leaders who’ve historically had to put up with “policy police” reactive HR.
And, as is often the case in “young” companies, whilst this HR Leader will be expected to be a strategic support partner, the reality is that with many HR systems, policies, processes and initiatives still to be developed; an element of “hands on” work can be expected in the short term. This role will formally manage a small team, and will work with an assortment of CofE specialists, so the ability to deliver on daily HR service demands whilst juggling to apply strategic thinking is going to be key.
A first hand appreciation of the cultural and employment law differences across European countries will be ideal.
A history of driving successful change management, and a depth and breadth of HR generalist skills to know the right questions for “trouble shooting” will be useful.
We have flex for some home working, but on the whole this person should plan for at least 4 days office attendence in either Surrey or the Home Counties areas, along with travel to EU countries on a planned basis every other month so a current passport will be required.
With a salary from £80,000 plus car allowance, benefits and performance bonus; this is a particularly interesting and varied role for the ambitious HR professional who prefers the variety of a full generalist role within a small but complicated matrix company, with plenty of opportunities to work directly with business leadership teams, and be recognised in a high profile role.
Interviews are being scheduled currently with a view to this person joining ideally as soon as possible.
