Regional HR Operations Leader - well resourced international company in growth mode - North Carolina, USA
HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT OFFER
We’re seeking an accomplished HR leader with advanced expertise for enabling functional operating efficiencies via team productivity, technology, benefits maximisation, and CofE output.
This multi billion revenue company is cash rich and has been investing significantly in their international HR capabilities. They continue to have executive appetite for experimenting with, and implementing new technologies and methodologies to improve HR service delivery and data analysis, that will enable informed decision making and trend identification; and now need a thought leader to drive greater innovation across all HR operations.
This leader will span over payroll, total reward, HR systems and technology, data analytics and project management teams in the region, with additional accountability for shared service centre staff. This is a broad ranging role that will focus on any process, policy or tool that can further enable business execs and HR teams to provide the most efficient services to all stakeholders, which in turn will help enable business growth and profitability.
Immediate projects include:
After a global implementation of Workday, the company needs to maximise its capabilities and utilisation. Plus there’s a need to introduce, develop and manage an array of other technologies that will enable the HR function to offer efficient and pro active services to their business clients.
Having outsourced some elements of HR operations, the company needs continued audits, reviews and fine tuning to ensure this partnership project remains viable.
With a significant number of retired employees in the region, the company needs continued compliance and plan management effected across various health and pension investments.
With ongoing acquisitions and product and service innovations, the company needs frameworks to enable integration, economies of scale, and scalability.
With peers in other regions in the world, this person needs to drive consistency and cooperation to effect a “one company” approach whilst ensuring local tailoring
The project management focus of this role will suit a leader who knows how to utilise an array of resources to deliver solutions and services, without themselves being caught up “in the weeds” to effect results. A leader with the ability to successfully juggle large numbers of projects of varying sizes, without over committing or repeatedly falling victim to to scope blowouts! A leader who has exceptional consultation skills to understand what is needed to enable “best in class” HR service delivery that is viable over time and commercially successful.
This is an ideal role for a professional who will relish the opportunity to create and innovate to keep ahead of workforce trends. Someone who knows that if “back of house” provides a tailored and seamless service to all stakeholders, whilst reducing time, angst and cost; then real value is added to help company competitiveness.
This organisation has a variety of work forces across both white and blue collar profiles, and a multi generational workforce with very different expectations for their HR services. They also have the challenge of attracting, engaging and retaining niche skilled talent in markets that are particularly “tight” for talent calibre.
Our successful leader will offer the following:
Ideally advanced knowledge of the Workday system. However, we’re also very open to leaders who have advanced knowledge of other HRIS and extensive system implementation and enhancement
Direct experience in leading shared service centers to high performance delivery models
A track record of achieving data quality and consistency - this company has grown rapidly over time so you can expect to inherit a variety of systems, frameworks, policies, processes and Excel spreadsheets, which may not be relevant or effective!
Ability to inspire and lead a team - with circa 50 dedicated people across the USA, Canada and India reporting into this person, we need a track record for successful team development and resource maximisation
Demonstrated success for harnessing virtual resources - this person will be regularly working through HR peers, Business Leaders, and various corporate functions; and will need to engage and direct a variety of stakeholders to achieve results
A history of working successfully across the complicated matrix of large publicly listed global companies
Advanced knowledge of outsourcing management, payroll process plus compensation, benefits and pensions management will be very useful; and a track record of accountability for multi million dollar budgets will be expected
Direct expertise for the due diligence and integration activities that accompany M&A events will be well regarded
Advanced communication and presentation skills, with a need to influence and impress the C-Suite and peer HR leaders right from the outset.
Apologies, but our hiring execs have particular interest in stable tenure, salaried professionals who can evidence ongoing career development and promotion within their employer companies (rather than career contractors or experts who change roles after each project is complete)
Based within North Carolina, this role will be ideal for an ambitious, truly international professional - it has been identified as the likely successor to key HR executive roles within the USA and Europe. This is a high profile role and it won’t suit “wall flowers” or “steady as it goes” types of folks.
This salaried role will attract an annual base from $220,000 plus bonus, LTIP and a range of benefits - the salary is expected to flex dependent on expertise levels. We do require current US citizenship (with no option for visa sponsorship support), and we can offer a very competitive relocation package to enable this person to be based from North Carolina.
