HR Manager – Germany and Switzerland

Are you an HR Generalist/Business Partner who is constantly looking for ways to add efficiency to your work and commercial value to the business?  Do you want to work for an international company that offers you options for development and promotion as the business expands?

This is a newly created role, and the main focus will be on managing the day-to-day HR agenda for both the German and Swiss manufacturing sites, within a company who are evolving and maturing and continuing to grow.

You’ll be supporting a variety of both white and blue collar workforces, some who haven’t experienced great HR support before.  So, you’ll need to be an educator and advocate of HR services with what could potentially be some demanding stakeholders.

You’ll be partnering with an inspiring CHRO, and key local business stakeholders - these are seeking an effective sparring partner, coach, and a “go to” expert, with high appetite for HR interventions.

We are seeking an HR professional with strong all-round generalist skills and a flair for proactive business partnerships.  Significant expansion is planned for this site and the wider EMEA region, so this HR Professional will be relied upon heavily to help with scaling up existing HR frameworks across multiple European countries.

There is no shortage of variety in the day to day workload with priorities including:

  •  Maintaining effective workforce relationships based on partnership and proactivity

  • Ownership of German employment law and Works Council queries

  • Contribution to a long term Talent agenda (further growth cannot happen without hiring additional employees and investing in their professional development and career pathways)

  • Ownership of employee wellbeing programs and ongoing development of tools that add to the employee value proposition

  • Development and coaching for all levels of staff, and the mentoring and line management of a HR/Payroll Coordinator in the region

  • Collation of data and preparation of analytics to enable informed business decision making

This HR leader should be prepared to be a visible presence on site – relationship building is paramount, and the business leaders want this person to be a key contributor in supporting the management team and local workforces.  As a result, our hiring execs are keen to secure an ambitious professional based in the Märkischer Kreis region of Germany, and who can undertake planned travel into Switzerland, and other parts of Europe as the company expands.

This ambitious professional will also have opportunities to “bolt on” additional international geographical responsibilities as part of a career development plan.

Fluent written and spoken English and German are essential.  Package includes a base salary of circa EUR 120,000 (depending on experience level) plus benefits. Relocation support is also available for current EU citizens.
